” WE BELIEVE THAT CHANGE STARTS WITH EDUCATED CHILDREN.”

Rural Education and Environment Development Centre (REED) Nepal was established in 2000 AD as a Non-Governmental Organization ( NGO)  registered in District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu and affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC). REED Nepal was inspired  by the first Mt. Everest climbers’ initiation in School Education who witnessed that children in the Himalayan region found backward to have the access of  basic level education and felt the need to assist Nepal Government’s attempts for the improvement of overall standard of School Education in the Himalayan regions, mainly in Upper Khumbu region.Following the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary,REED has been serving to the communities of remote parts of Nepal since its establishment in 2000 AD. Since 2005, REED has been working for the well being of children partnering with communities and government bodies at the local level in most remotest parts of Nepal.  REED’s activities focus on imparting Inclusive Quality Education via its flagship Teacher Training Quality Education Program (TTQEP) and other sister programs associated with it. After the devastating earthquakes stuck Nepal in April and May 2015, REED Nepal responded with immediate relief followed by recovery and rehabilitation efforts in 3 districts to benefit more than half a million people in Nepal. At present, REED Nepal’s development programs are being implemented in 12 districts of 6 provinces across the country with a goal to change the lives of children via inclusive quality educational approaches.
