REED Nepal protects children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence in all schools of Solukhumbu and Taplejung. In the program intervening area, we provided critical services in the aftermath of disasters and emergencies. Our programs focus on the most vulnerable children while providing scholarship while aiming for the safety and well-being of all children in the mountainous region. Working with government and local community, we strive to create lasting change with improvements in teacher training services that protect children.
What We Do
Some examples of our child protection program activities include creating Child-Friendly Spaces in classrooms, developing public/community awareness campaigns against corporal punishment, conduction training programs for their rights to education in the school and community. An important part of all of REED Nepal’s child protection work, however, is the participation and leadership of the children themselves. To this end, we actively support child clubs and other child-led activities that educate children on how to protect themselves and empower them to call for action in their communities.
